The Thought Of Office Snacks

Before you get to work, you might stop off at a store and grab your lunch, maybe a few snacks to get you through the day. You don't really think about choices, you just grab and go because you are so busy right?

Maybe you've skipped breakfast because you cant be bothered to make it or get up 5 minutes early or just grab a piece of toast while you are running out the door.

Get to work, sit down at your desk and start work. You start to feel a little hungry around 11ish and guess who comes around right at that moment, the office snack person. You think great, I'll have a cake and maybe a chocolate bar oh and maybe I should have a piece of fruit. Good on you for thinking about fruit. So you eat this and feel good.

Lunch comes and you then maybe eat at your desk or you go for a quick walk because you've got to get back to work asap.

Then 3pm hits and oh my god, you are so tired. Its like a train has hit you so you need another pick me up. This is called the 3pm slump. Its an actual real thing.

What I am saying is that you need to make healthy choices right from the start. Here is a recipe for one of my favourite snacks. Its Homemade Energy balls. Very yummy as a snack in between breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner. It helps give you a huge boost of energy. Great for a protein hit. With added carbohydrates for a slow release energy and a little natural sweetener in the form of honey.

Ingredients:

90g Rolled Oats

130g Cashew butter

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon chia seeds

Handful of cacao nibs or 100% Dark chocolate grated

Method

Put into a bowl and mix up.

Divide the mixed ingredients into 6 little balls and put into fridge to set.

Its as easy as that. Enjoy.
