Monday Morning Energiser Smoothie

Monday Morning Energiser Smoothie

Hands up who dreads Monday mornings? Yes I did to for years but no I've come to love them. And do you know why, because I set myself up for a good day.

One of the best things to do in the mornings is to have a good fuelled breakfast and not to skip it. So many people skip it and then wonder why they are struggling mid morning. Think of it like your car. Your car needs fuel to work and so does your body, albeit different types but it still needs fuel to function.

Try to have a nutritious breakfast filled with protein, carbs and fruit and veg. This will allow your body the nutrients it needs to function throughout your day. Come in the Monday Morning Energiser Smoothie. This is full of protein, carbs and fresh fruit.

Ingredients:

1 Papaya - Deseeded and cut into chunks

1 Passion Fruit - Cut in half and the pulp scooped out

100ml fresh Orange Juice

1 Scoop of Protein Powder

1 tablespoon of Porridge Oats or Homemade Granola

Method

Put all the ingredients in a blender and wazz up till smooth.

Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Papaya's have so many health benefits. These include reduced risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, aiding in digestion, improving blood glucose control in people with diabetes, lowering blood pressure, and improving wound healing. That's a lot for a little fruit.

Passion Fruits also have a huge number of health benefits. These include rich in antioxidants. Good source of fibre. Low glycaemic index. Improve insulin sensitivity. Boosts the immune system. Supports heart health and Reduces anxiety. So another amazing little fruit.
