Downtime In Your Daily Routine

Take some time out of you daily routine to really feel connected to yourself and nature.

Yesterday I took the day off from work and took the children to the New Forest to see my family who are camping there. Ashurst campsite is a place where we used to go every year camping as a family when my siblings and I were children. We absolutely loved it there and still do. I think that's why I have a real connection to it. What place or area do you have a connection to? Let me know in the comments below.

If you are feeling a bit low, not really sure where to go or what to do, then take some time off from your everyday life and really connect back with yourself. Look at Simone Biles (American Gymnast), she knew that she couldn't compete in her events at the Olympics and was pulling out of them to save her mind. This is exactly what you should do, take some time off and recognise what you can and cant do. If its an everyday task for you and you are struggling with it then you really need to go inward and figure out how to get back from this. By having a deeper connection within yourself you will heal a lot quicker than just trying to carry on. Go away for the day somewhere and really try to figure out in your head what it is that you need to sort out. Go into nature, and sit quietly. Listen. Listen to all that's around you. Our ancestors did this all the time as they lived a much more simple life. They knew the world and how to deal with their emotions. We seem to have lost touch with all this. So now its time reign it in and really connect up to your inner being.

Stretch out, do a simple yoga sequence or sitting in a comfortable position on the ground, allowing your body to connect to the earth, grounding down and lift your head up and down, stretching out the neck and shoulder area. Move your head left and right and roll the chin around on your chest releasing all the cricks and cracks within your neck. Breathe in the deep fresh air, filling your lungs with fresh oxygen, noticing how you feel with each breath.

Now I know if you are in a dark place right now you cant think about things at all as your mind is clouded but just by going out into nature, you truly will heal. Nature is our biggest teacher and healer and know you are held.

Let me know in the comments below how you are feeling right now and be brutally honest with yourself.
